Print Email Save to FavoritesRoyal Mail is fast becoming a must-cover case study for advanced business students. ?Royal Mail is now well into a significant transformation programme under the leadership of CEO Moya Green. The business is preparing for and approaching privatisation and faces intense competition in the profitable parcels business.?
So I thought I'd dig out a few links which might help students get started with exploring the Royal Mail case study.
Royal Mail?s aim is to become "the best delivery and marketing mail business in the UK". According to Moya Greene, the Royal Mail is "undertaking one of the largest transformation programmes in the country to modernise every part of our business".
A good place to start is here on the Royal Mail website, where the culture of the organisation is described, as are the key elements of the transformation programme:

This interview with CEO Moya Greene provides some useful insights into the changes that she is trying to implement at Royal Mail:

This website is managed by Royal Mail to keep employees updated about progress in the transformation programme. It also features a regular blog by Moya Greene which explains the key issues and provides an update on strategy. Very interesting and accessible.

This recent blog entry by Moya Greene is particularly useful:

The major stories and developments are well covered by the national newspapers: for example:

This news article provides some more useful data on the Royal Mail as it prepares for, and approaches privatisation:

This news article provides some evidence that the transformation programme is beginning to result in improved financial performance - which will be important as Royal Mail prepares for privatisation.
