Galileo Offline Maps Provides GPS Function To Unconnected Devices

While GPS software is highly valuable in a variety of situations, in many cases, it needs an online connection to make the most of it. Galileo Offline Maps, meanwhile, looks to improve on that vulnerability by offering many of its services without connectivity.

Galileo Offline Maps works with most versions of iOS hardware, including iPhone, fourth and fifth generation iPod Touch models, and iPads. It?s not specifically optimized for iPhone 5, which is always a shame, but it works with a sufficiently wide array of devices?anything running iOS 4.3 or later?so the versatility makes up for the lack of optimization. Galileo Offline Maps offers a collection of 15 maps, with the ability to bring in custom map sources via XML files.

That?s a good start, but it continues on with the ability to import both KML and GPX files, allowing users to create waypoints and routes for easy uploading to the app at no additional charge. Saving maps, meanwhile, saves images in the cache, allowing for that offline capability that makes this a valuable app. Users can even conduct searches by point of interest or by address, even by outright GPS coordinates. There?s even support for one-finger zoom, and several paying options available besides for things like bookmarks, GPS track recording and more.

It?s not easy to find a complaint about an app that?s not only useful?most GPS navigation systems have that particular quality working for them in a great degree?but also versatile, user-friendly and cost-effective. While the overall app itself isn?t much new, nor is it much removed from a wide variety of similar such software on the market today, it?s got too much going for it to easily pass it up. The app isn?t anything special, but it?s sufficiently powerful and easy to work with that it?s going to make an excellent alternative to many higher-priced systems on the market.

But as ever, the ability to properly track down locations of? businesses, suppliers, and similar potential contacts is never sufficient in isolation to successfully drive a small business. Cloud-based telephony provides many of the necessary extras to fuel a small business? operations; click to call functionality allows for easier connection between your contacts and your business, while at the same time, screen pops can make the responses you provide to those callers a lot better and more valuable overall, improving the likelihood of better conclusions.

Galileo Offline Maps offers a lot of value for small businesses, especially those who have to spend a lot of time out of the office or even out of the town in which the office is located. There?s significant value here for a business, however, and the features it has to offer should prove very welcome to those interested.
